An inspiring nail iteration of the trend still eludes me, though. Straight-up purple nail lacquers abound, but I’d prefer a polish that whispers, rather than screams “violet.” Perfect Formula’s art-inspired new seasonal color range, which bows this week, has two worthy, and rather unlikely, contenders. Futurist is a gray-tinted lavender, while Post Modern is a cross between fuchsia and bubblegum pink. Each one feels like it complements rather than precisely mirrors the season’s rich hues. If you’re planning on going for bold, though, Sephora has you covered with Just a Little Dangerous, a rich grape varnish from its collab with OPI that has a slight undertone of pink shimmer. The beauty giant has also devised a purple smoky eye palette should you want to make the regal shade a full-face affair.
